Where and when we play in Kalamazooo & Portage
We play six days a week! Our local YMCA's, the Portage Senior Center, Borgess Health & Fitness Center, West Hills Athletic Club & Portage Parks & Recreation provide us places to play everyday of the week!

Kalamazoo Doubles TournamentThe Tournament was held at the Portage YMCA. Thursday afternoon, evening and all-day Friday, September 16 - 17, 2010. This is a wonderful facility with seven indoor Pickleball Courts!

Thursday at 1pm the 65+ Doubles & 65+ Mixed Doubles compete in Round Robin format. Thursday evening at 6pm skills drills are followed by "Crazy Mixed-Up Doubles" with some fun prizes & awards.

Friday at 8am the round robin continues with 19+, 50+ and 5.0 divisions. You may enter once for Doubles and once for Mixed Doubles. One entry is $25 and two enties are $35. There is a $5 discount for USAPA members.

Thursday September 16:
1-5pm 65+ Doubles & 65+ Mixed Doubles
6-9:30pm Skills Drills & Crazy Mixed Up Doubles
Friday September 17:
8am until done All other Mixed Doubles & Doubles

Round Robin Format. You may enter once for Doubles & once for Mixed Doubles. Any entry includes Skills Drills and Crazy Doubles. We reserve the right to eliminate or combine brackets. New this Tournament: Rated Play 5.0 Bracket. Anyone may register to play in their appropriate age bracket or the rated bracket. In past Tournaments most 4.0, 4.5 & 5.0 rated players registered in the 19+ Bracket. We anticipate that these players will register in the 5.0 bracket.
Tournament registration is limited to a maximum of 100 players not to exceed 12 teams* in each of 9 divisions on a "first come-first served" basis. Divisions are Mixed 19+; Mixed 50+, Mixed 65+, Mixed 5.0, Women's 19+, Women's 50+, Women's 65+, Women's 5.0, Men's 19+, Men's 50+, Men's 65+, Men's 5.0.  The age of any team is based upon the youngest player as of December 31, 2010. Teams may compete in a younger bracket, but they may not compete in an older one.
Skills Drills

SKills Drills on Seven Courts

(Registration opens at 5pm) Be on court at 6pm sharp Thursday night for fast-paced skills drills*. Every 7 minutes the horn will sound and you'll move to the next court for another challenging session. We'll take a short break at 7pm, then re-group for Crazy Mixed Up Doubles.

[Thursday night activities are free to registered players and $15 per person for all others. Spectators free!]

How's your PPM (Points Per Minute)?

We start at 7 pm with a burst of 10-minute court times. You'll be paired with random partners and track your individual points for each round. There's no telling who your partner may be! Practice your skills drills while you "Clown Around on Court". Every point counts toward some Crazy Mixed Up Prizes!

The YMCA closes at 10 pm.

Friday Schedule: Kalamazoo Round Robin Doubles Tournament resumes at 8am (Mixed Doubles Player meeting at 7:30 am). Player guaranteed 3 games in semi-final round.
